Eloping in NYC— with a Seinfeld Flair
Mayé and Gus reached out to me thinking of the iconic DUMBO neighborhood as their location of choice: cobblestone streets, the Empire State Building between the Manhattan Bridge arch, and all of its Brooklyn charm. After we chatted about how they want to remember their first time in NYC as a married couple, they pivoted, swapping cobble stone streets for a trip to the Upper West Side at Tom’s Restaurant, a central location in the show Seinfeld.
“We’re nervous,” they shared at the start of our photoshoot. (Most people are with a camera in front of them, including myself!) But with some guidance, they fell into their natural pace. Their photos reflect a beautiful couple at a location meaningful to them:
How many Seinfeld references can you spot?
Had to have bagels in NYC!
We picked up her bouquet as soon as the florist opened and headed to Central Park. On the way there, we had some fun on the subway, of course.
After a short break, we made our way to Central Park West, a less-frequented area compared to Bethesda Terrace and Bow Bridge, but no less beautiful.
From this side of Central Park, you can see the skyline from the reservoir as well as one of many gothic bridges. We wrapped up our session at Bridge No. 28, but not before putting on some socks for the bride who had been braving the streets with the cutest Betsey Johnson slingbacks.
