Stunning locations to get married in NYC with a smaller guest count: from green spaces in the concrete jungle, hints of the gilded age, and modern, unique settings.
Burden Kahn
Burden-Kahn Mansion connects the two properties of the Burden mansion and the Kahn Mansion.
The Kahn Mansion, reminiscent of Italian Renaissance with its elements of marble, detailed mouldings, and intricate staircase, is perfect for intimate gatherings in a space created to celebrate marriage. The Burden mansion was a wedding gift from William Sloane to his daughter and James Burden.
The Kahn mansion was owned by Otto Herman Kahn — the person who inspired the Monopoly mascot. The Kahn property has more space for larger events.
Lotte Palace
Critically-acclaimed series Gossip Girl, 27 Dresses, and a number of visual media have brought additional recognition to the well-known Lotte New York Palace, a 5-star hotel right by St. Patrick’s Cathedral. While it’s no secret that the Lotte hosts opulent large scale weddings, they also have select rooms for intimate microweddings, such as the Drawing Room (up to 40 guests), and the Gold Room (up to 60 guests). Each room has a distinctive charm of their own, in warm wood tones or bright gold tones with old world charm.
For even smaller weddings (under 8 guests), booking out one of the suites and celebrating with a close-knit set of loved ones might be worth looking into as well.
620 Loft
Just around the corner of the Lotte brings us to 620 Loft in the heart of Manhattan.
Sough after for its views of St. Patrick’s on the rooftop, venue rental for up to 8 hours ranges from $16,500 to $20,000 as of 2025. These prices are for just to rent the space itself; no catering, furniture rental, and other services included.
If you enjoy working with a planner to completely transform the space from bare bones, 620 Loft and Garden might be a good fit. Ideal guest count is under 50 persons.
Cop Cot, Central Park
Imagine getting married in one of the most-visited places in the U.S.: Central Park.
For a guest count of under 30, Cop Cot in Central Park is a fantastic choice as a wedding location — and cost-effective, too, at just $25 to secure a permit for your ceremony.
Cop Cot’s prime locations allows easy access to a selection of restaurants just outside of the park or an option to get an intimate picnic set up at one of the park’s many areas.
Central Park Conservatory
Renovations to the conservatory have been completed as of Spring 2025, bringing much needed improvements for the longevity and beautification to this pocket of Central Park. They are finally accept applications for wedding permits again, as of Summer 2025.
On the north end of the park, the conservatory is a bit of a trek from the main attractions of Central Park (Bethesda Arcade, the zoo, Bow Bridge, and so on) - but it’s well worth looking into.
Boasting two fountains and three formal gardens — an Italian garden, and English garden, and a French garden — in typical New York fashion, you experience a blend of all of the above.
The permit fee for the wedding ceremony comes to $400 for the hour for up to 100 guests and and additional $100 for photography. Keep in mind that this is still a public space and is not exclusively blocked off.
Receptions cannot be held at the same location and there are additional restrictions, such as no drones, no ribbons on trees and shrubs, no rice throwing, and so on. Please relay these guidelines to your guests to help keep the gardens accessible and manageable for us all to enjoy.
Permit applications are accepted 21 days before your desired date (or earlier!); make sure to submit them early to lock in your date of choice. The application can be found here.
River Cafe
Located in DUMBO, Brooklyn, with amazing food with a history of Michelin-recognition and a view of the iconic Brooklyn Bridge and Lower Manhattan, River Cafe has quickly become a favorite spot for intimate weddings, ideal for 20-80 guests.
You can opt to have your ceremony here or just the reception. The location also allows for easy access of some amazing photo spots in the surrounding areas — Pebble Beach, the Brooklyn Bridge, Water Street—for some portraits as newlyweds.
New York Academy of Medicine
A short 2 blocks from the Central Park conservatory is the New York Academy of Medicine.
Before you think “Academy… of Medicine? That doesn’t sound very romantic,” don’t miss out on this gem and keep reading!
There are a few options for spaces at the New York Academy of Medicine that are perfect for micro weddings:
Periodicals Room
For lovers of details and a classic, old world style, the periodicals room features vaulted ceilings, expansive windows, and wood that brings natural light, warmth, and sophistication to your event. If you and your partner enjoy reading together and want to incorporate that into your wedding day or had your sights on library venues, the library room at NYAM does not disappoint.
Hartwell Room
Another room surrounded with rich wooden motifs is the Hartwell Room. You may have seen glimpses of this room and its Gilded Age splendor in some TV shows or film.
The Hartwell Room may be better suited for a lunch or dinner with less than 25 guests, perhaps after your ceremony at the Conservatory across the street.
The Plaza
Another NYC classic, notable for its opulence, proximity to Central Park, and as a setting for our favorite troublemaker in Home Alone 2.
If you’re looking for a hint of European design in NYC, The Plaza offers options for varying capacities for microweddings, with the Edwardian Room offering ample space to beautifully set up for a wedding under 100 guests without feeling cramped. If you’re leaning toward a minimalist approach for florals and other decor, the windows overlooking NYC sights, such as Central Park, and the Spanish Renaissance design are plenty to help set the tone of your special day.
For a more intimate guest count, the Rose Club is perfect for up to 50 seated guests. The plush blue upholstery and complementary tones of the room’s mahogany wood offer a place for your guests to forget the busyness of the city outside and focus on your wedding day.
For even guest counts under 10 people or eloping with just the two of you, consider one of the stunning suites that the hotel offers, from the penthouse suites (with its own terrace!), or the unique tower room. Depending on the season, the penthouse suites start at just shy of $3,000 per night.
Lady Mendl’s Tea Salon
Lady Mendl’s Tea Salon provides a unique space full of color with and unique pieces that bring the space to life, an homage to a previous owner of the historic brownstone: Lady Mendl.
There are a few different options for your celebration: the salon itself opens up to addition room for a total of 50 guests, and a more intimate option on the other side of the venue at the library, 25 guests or fewer.
On the same property is The Inn at Hudson Place, which offers a few rooms for couples who are interested in the convenience of staying and getting ready at the same location.
Raines Law Room
Have you considered a speakeasy for your celebration?
If not, Raines Law Room is another one that provides beautiful spaces — and drinks to remember. Imagine this: plush seating and velvet curtains to set the mood, which each location showing off a little more of their personalities: Gilded Age and world word feels at the location inside The William Hotel or a little more intimacy and mysterious vibes with a darker color palette at their Chelsea location.
Note: Unfortunately, their Chelsea location is temporarily closed due to a fire in the building (early 2026).
Saint Speakeasy
Looking for another speakeasy with a more rustic feel? Saint speakeasy is located in East Village, with a few options for smaller weddings.
The ivy room is perfect for up to 12 persons: intimate and semi-private with romantic chandeliers and plush upholstery. They have an outdoor sidewalk option as well, allowing for a few more guests.
Need a little bit more wiggle room with around 50 guests? They have a full covered “Secret Garden,” where you could potentially hold your ceremony, and the Chandelier Dining room to hold a reception after.
